Maria Edith Villarreal, a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and sister, passed away on March 8, 2025, at HCA Houston Healthcare Medical Center. She was born on January 19, 1966, in Reynosa, Tamaulipas, Mexico, and dedicated her life to caring for others, always placing their needs before her own.
Maria was a being of strength and positivity in the lives of those who knew her. Her infectious smile radiated warmth and love, touching the hearts of family, friends, and anyone fortunate enough to cross her path. Her loving nature and giving spirit were hallmarks of her personality, and she fought remarkably through life's challenges until the very end.
Maria is survived by her devoted husband, Jesus Angel Villarreal, who stood by her throughout every moment. She leaves behind her cherished children: Maricruz Villarreal, Jesus Angel (Andrea) Villarreal II, and Esmeralda Villarreal. Maria also embraced her role as a grandmother with great joy, caring for and loving Jesus Angel Villarreal III, Karisma Villarreal, Kataliyah Villarreal, and Karely Villarreal.
She is survived by her brothers, Ricardo Anzaldua, Eliud Sauceda, Saul Sauceda, and Raul Sauceda, each of whom will carry her spirit forward in their lives.
Those who predeceased her are her parents, Alfredo and Irma Sauceda; and a sister, Faviola Flores.
Maria's legacy will continue in the hearts of her family and all who knew her. A private ceremony will be held with immediate family members to honor her memory and the love she shared. Maria Edith Villarreal will fondly be remembered for her loving ways, her strength, and the enduring impact she had on so many lives.
