Aurora Ochoa Reyna

Aurora Ochoa Reyna, 76, a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away on December 26, 2024, at her residence in Omaha, Nebraska. Born on August 8, 1948, in Penitas, Texas, Aurora lived a life characterized by unwavering love for her family and an indomitable spirit.

Aurora's passion for family was the foundation of her life. She dedicated herself fully to her three daughters, Carmen (Jose) Reyna, Selesoe "Sally" (Enrique+) Berrones, and Lourdes (Raymond) Garcia, cherishing each moment spent with them. Her legacy of strength, love, and charisma resonates deeply in the lives she touched. As a grandmother to Rafael Berrones, she fostered bonds that will endure beyond her time.

Throughout her life, Aurora exhibited a strong-willed personality, always living life to its fullest and making family her top priority. She created an atmosphere of warmth and kindness, attracting friends and loved ones into a circle of support and affection. Such a vibrant character left an indelible mark on all who were fortunate enough to know her.

In addition to her daughters and grandson, Aurora is survived by her brothers, Juan (Belia) Ochoa and Ramon G. (Pamela) Ochoa, Jr., and her sister, Maria C. (Eduardo) Martinez. She was predeceased by her husband, Rafael Reyna; her son-in-law, Enrique Berrones; her mother, Maria Constanza "Concha" Ochoa; her father, Ramon G. Ochoa; her brother, Ismael "Melo" Ochoa; and her sister-in-law, Armandina Ochoa.

A memorial gathering in honor of Aurora will take place on January 8, 2025, from 12:00 PM to 4:00 PM, followed by a memorial service at 3:00 PM, both held at 512 S 12th St, McAllen, Texas. Additionally, interment of ashes will take place at 4;30 PM at Penitas City Cemetery aka St. Anthony's Cemetery in Penitas, Texas.

Aurora Ochoa Reyna’s vibrant spirit and devotion to her family will be sorely missed but will continue to inspire those who were touched by her love and compassion.
